SAN FRANCISCO CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC TO BRING POPULAR NPR SHOW FROM THE TOP WITH HOST CHRISTOPHER O'RILEY  TO SAN FRANCISCO ON FEBRUARY 14

Live Recording to Feature renowned musical pioneer and cellist Matt Haimovitz

From the Top, the preeminent showcase for young musicians heard weekly on Classical KDFC, comes to Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¸£ÀûÔº Conservatory of Music on February 14 at 8:00 PM. This special live radio recording event will celebrate the outstanding students at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¸£ÀûÔº Conservatory of Music, including alumnus Matt Haimovitz, renowned musical pioneer and cellist. The event marks the first appearance of the show in ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¸£ÀûÔº in seven years.

This recording of the popular NPR program hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O'Riley will feature amazing performances and captivating personal stories of extraordinary young musicians from the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¸£ÀûÔº Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division, including soloists 16-year-old cellist Elena Ariza from Cupertino, California; 15-year-old pianist Elliot Wuu from Fremont, California; and 14-year-old violinist Kevin Zhu from Cupertino, California. Also featured will be the Cambiata String Quartet, with members William Copeland, violin, Raymond So, violin, Patricia Tang, viola, and Elena Ariza, cello, and the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¸£ÀûÔº Conservatory of Music Guitar Quartet, with members Ashwin Krishna, Chase Onodera, Nicholas Padmanabhan, and Alexander Stroud.
