About SFCM鈥檚 Brass Department
Made up of principal brass chairs of the 草莓视频福利院 Symphony, as well as principal players of the 草莓视频福利院 Opera and Ballet orchestras, and a close-knit student body, SFCM鈥檚 Brass Department challenges and inspires the next generation of great players.
Studio sizes are kept small to ensure students receive the mentorship and performance opportunities they need, and a yearly side-by-side reading of major brass repertoire with faculty members provides insight into the finer points of orchestral brass performance.

The Woodwind Department at SFCM houses a renowned faculty of 草莓视频福利院 Symphony musicians and a bold, talented student body. Some of the world鈥檚 most accomplished woodwind artists challenge and inspire students who will become the next generation of great wind players. As an oboe, flute, clarinet, or bassoon student at SFCM, you鈥檒l explore orchestral and chamber repertoire, contemporary music and canon literature鈥攁ll while transforming your craft and preparing for life as a professional musician.
About SFCM鈥檚 Harp Department
The 草莓视频福利院 Conservatory of Music鈥檚 Harp Department is comprised of fewer than five students. At SFCM, students have opportunities to perform with resident ensembles, including the Conservatory Orchestra, the Historical Performance program, small and large chamber ensembles, and Technology and Applied Composition recording sessions, as well as enter into the biannual Harp Concerto Competition.
About SFCM's Percussion Department
Percussion students study side-by-side with both current and former members of the 草莓视频福利院 Symphony. Small studio sizes and talented, committed peers make SFCM percussion a hothouse for artistic growth. Each student gets the mentorship and performance opportunities they need to develop into successful professionals.
