Born and raised in a family of panists, Hang Li naturally inherited a deep passion for music and an exceptional talent at the piano. At age of 10,  Ms. Li made her solo recital debut at Tianjin Concert hall, China. Her early performances quickly established her as a rising pianist of remarkable promise. In 1997, Ms. Li achieved a major milestone by delivering the Chinese premiere of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.2, performing with the ShangHai Symphony Orchestra. She soon graduated at an accelerated pace from China Central Conservatory of Music when she turned 20. Her exceptional gifting and dedication earned her the prestigious position of the youngest faculty member in the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She was also nominated as the youngest member of the judging committee for the Chinese Musician’s Association. Ms. Li has made concert appearances across renowned concert halls extensively throughout Europe, US and China. Her performances have been acclaimed as “truly poetic and exhilarating,” with “exquisite and sensitive touch.” Her teachers include the eminent pianists Joaquín Achúcarro, Gary Graffman, Ling Yuan, Li Qifang, and Mack McCray.

Hang Li has joined the faculty of ��ݮ��Ƶ����Ժ Conservatory of Music Pre-College since 2009. She is an active piano and chamber music performer and instructor. Ms. Li is a frequent adjudicator of piano competitions in both the US and China. She is also an active concert pianist for The Joaquín Achúcarro Foundation. She directs Hang Li Piano Studio in Palo Alto, California and a music exchange program with young musicians overseas. With passionate dedication to advancing piano education and artistry, Ms. Li continues to give master classes and seminars to the next generation pianists.

Ms. Li’s students have been selected into world-class piano competitions, including the Van Cliburn Junior Competition, Hilton Head International Competitions and won numerous top place prizes at prestigious piano events such as the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, Seattle international Piano Competition, Pacific Music Competition, ENKOR Competition, MTAC Piano Competition, Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition. Her students are accepted into esteemed music programs including: The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory of Music, Stanford, Yale, and Cornell University. She is also an inspiration to her students to join the world renowned music festivals with scholarships such as the Aspen Music Festival, Morningside Music Bridge, Bowdoin International Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival and Music@Menlo.

Hang Li received her Bachelor of Arts from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China; Artist’s Certificate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas; Master’s of Music from the ��ݮ��Ƶ����Ժ Conservatory of Music and Diploma of Artist from Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy.
